Ever wonder how that
Massachusetts judge
who took your children
away and stripped you
of your house and assets
got to sit on the bench?
All judges were approved,
usually by unanimous,
vote, by the Governors
Council at a public hearing.
The audio for their
hearings over the last
couple of years can be heard here:

Sen. Scott Brown's Deceptive Letter on VAWA *AND* Tell Mass. Congressional Reps. to Vote 'No' On House VAWA

-Sen. Scott Brown's Deceptive Letter on VAWA- -Tell Mass. Congressional Reps. to Vote 'No' On House VAWA- 1. Sen. Brown Continues His VAWA Deception 2. House of Representatives May Vote on VAWA as Early as Next Week 1. Sen. Brown Continues His VAWA Deception Following his disgraceful vote in favor of the VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) renewal bill Sen. Brown sent out a form letter to all those who had asked him to reject the bill. Adding insult to injury, in the 2-3 months period before the vote, Sen. Brown never took the time despite requests to meet with those opposed to VAWA. Scott Brown's statement in his letter that "[t]hese grant programs, as well as the language of the legislation, addresses victims generally, not only based on their gender" flies in the face of his own testimony in the Senate before the vote on April 18. Then, he only spoke of and emphasized women victimized by men and never mentioned men assaulted by women. As noted in previous announcements there is no question that VAWA is a sexist, anti-male and anti-family law that harms men, women and children. Any claim by Sen. Brown to the contrary should be dismissed out of hand. Sen. Brown letter ends with this deceptive claim: "I will continue to keep your concerns in mind as I consider legislation at the federal level. Restraining orders are governed by state law, and therefore that policy does not come under my jurisdiction as a U.S. Senator." This statement by Sen. Brown shows either ignorance of the law or conscious intention to deceive. VAWA is tied directly to state issued restraining orders as it funds the implementation of restraining orders by the police, courts and a variety of state agencies. In Massachusetts alone nearly $100 million was spent in just one recent fiscal year on so-called 'domestic violence' programs. State agencies strongly support VAWA for one reason, money, despite the carnage it creates and, in return for this cash cow, states across the country have tailored their restraining order laws to fully comply with VAWA mandates. Sen. Brown's claim that his VAWA vote has no direct influence on these state laws is a transparent attempt to escape responsibility for his actions. Tell Sen. Brown at (202) 224-4543 (DC office) and (617) 565-3170 (Boston) that his VAWA vote will not be forgotten. Let him know that he will not have your vote in the November election unless he takes a pubic stand against VAWA and introduces a bill of repeal! 2. House of Representatives to Vote on VAWA as Early as Next Week After passing the US Senate the VAWA renewal must now be voted on in the House. The VAWA bill number of the Senate version is . Contact your representatives now and tell them to vote against Re-authorization of VAWA: John Oliver, Holyoke office: (413) 532-7010, DC office: (202) 225-5335 Richard Neal, Springfield office: (413) 785-0325, DC office: (202) 225-5601 James McGovern, Worcester office: (508) 831-7356, DC office: (202) 225-6101 Barney Frank, Taunton office: (508) 822-4796, DC office: (202) 225-5931 Niki Tsongas, Lowell office: (978) 459-0101, DC office: 202) 225-3411 John Tierney, Peabody office: (978) 531-1669, DC office: (202) 225-8020 Ed Markey, Medford Office: 781-396-2900, DC office: 202-225-2836 Michael Capuano, Cambridge office: (617) 621-6208, DC office: (202) 225-5111 (co-sponsor of House VAWA bill) Stephen Lynch, South Boston office: (617) 428-2000, DC office: (202) 225-8273 William Keating, Quincy office: (617) 770-3700, DC office: (202) 225-3111 The VAWA vote in the House will be held soon. Call your congress reps. now! Tell them if they do not to vote 'No' they will not have your vote in November!
