The Captivity of Justina Pelletier
The case of Justina Pelletier, the young girl held against her and her parent's will by the Massachusets Department of Children and Families (DCF) on the order of Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Johnston, is not an anomaly. Fit parents, mostly fathers, routinely lose their children to the state's overreaching bureaucracy. The fortunate difference in this instance is the tremendous public focus on the injustice caused by Boston Children's Hospital, the DCF and, most importantly, the Massachusetts court system.
Kathleen Higgins, a registered nurse involved in Justina's care, has written directly to the Director of DCF, Olga Roache, detailing the abuse against Justina.
