Now is the Time! Contact Senators to Repeal VAWA and NH Legislators to Reform DV Law
There is a window of opportunity for change in the so-called 'domestic violence' laws both nationally and in New Hampshire as we continue our efforts to repeal the Massachusetts 209A DV law and get the courts out of family life. Your can support our work here.

2. Excellent bill in the works to reform NH so-called 'domestic abuse' law
New Hampshire House Bill (HB) 1581, sponsored by Reps. Itse and Lambert, would require a warrant before a domestic abuse order could be issued and restricts the ability of police to make arrests without one. This bill would be a significant step in the right direction not only in NH but for other states as well because of multi-state reciprocity agreements. The bill has already attracted notice in the Massachusetts State House. According to Rep. Itse, however, the bill's provisions on 'domestic violence' warrants will die unless people speak up and make their voices heard. At the first public hearing opponents were out in force and got their views aired on both New Hampshire and on Boston TV stations.
Shared parenting efforts depend on reform and eventual repeal of these draconian 'domestic violence' laws.
Supporters of changes in the law should attend the next public hearing on the bill, likely next week. Contact Rep. Itse ( (603)642-9403) for the schedule.
It is imperative that people, especially those in New Hampshire, write the committee members (below) ASAP and let them know how domestic abuse orders are issued without justification and the harm it causes to their family life and to their financial well-being.
Please write the 17 committee members below and cc' Rep. Itse ( itsenh@comcast.net ). If you live in New Hampshire please call and speak directly to the committee members as well. If you live in or near the legislator's district make an appointment to meet them face-to-face. They need to hear directly from their constituents.

Now is the time to act. Contact the US Senators and New Hampshire legislators to make the changes in these onerous laws that separate fathers from their children and destroy families.
